Free Chess Lessons!

What is the Chess Academy?

The JLETFI Chess Academy is a virtual chess class offered free of charge as part of the National Junior Tennis and Learning's mission to serve underserved youth through tennis and education. The James Lewis Education and Tennis Foundation sponsors students across the 9 NJTL State Footprint and local Birmingham City Students to access advanced chess lessons, including life concepts provided by Byrd Brothers Chess Center coaches. Typically, chess lessons offered by qualified, expert coaches are expensive, but thanks to the sponsorships provided by the aforementioned sponsor, we make advanced chess accessible to students in underserved areas.
